Religious Freedom

& Faith

Ellie with Pastor Abeidini after he was freed by the Iranian regime

Franks’ Office was a key driver in Congress fighting for him to be released.

First and foremost, I am a man of faith. I thank God every day for the beautiful life he has given me, and it is truly my only goal to serve His cause where ever he needs me to be.

I have always believed that in order for religious freedom to be adhered to abroad, we must first get it right at home so we can show the world how it is done. As a person who has had to deal with anti-Semitism as a kid and lived through terrorism just for being Jewish, I know how important it is to make sure that faith and religious freedom are solemnly protected and guaranteed.

In Congress, I worked on the critical issue of international religious freedom. I met with Iraqi Yazidis and assisted our office in their plight, protecting Christian minorities in the Middle East, and advocating for those to be freed who was incarcerated only for their faith. I worked to protect the Lautenberg Amendment, and also focused on Jerusalem because only Israel ensures religious freedom at the holy sites for all faiths.
